Barry Shaw graduated from King’s College London, with an Electrical Engineering Degree. After 17 years in South Africa as IT manager for Barlows Group, and Deputy Managing Director at Gencor Group Computer services, he returned to the UK where he started CAP-RS, which became known as SGRS, and it grew into one of the worlds’ largest Business Continuity Companies, operating in 15 countries and employing over 250 people. It was the first to provide large scale work area recovery with full dealing room capability.
Since retiring Barry is involved as a non-exec director for a number of companies varying from a Train Ticketing company, through a Cloud Computing company, to 2 high tech spin-outs from Imperial college, London, as well as ContinuitySA. He enjoys golf, cricket, sailing, wild life and travel.
